Ashley's baptism

Our relatives traveled far to come celebrate with Ashley.

Ashley's sweet school teachers came to the baptism and gave her a dozen beautiful roses!

Some lovely ward members talked with Chris's coworker from India

Our friends from Slovakia chatted with a member of the bishopric.

So many wonderful people came to support Ashley on her special day!
We even had two sets of Elders and a set of Sisters come hang out
(and sing I Know that my Savior Loves Me...thank you!)

It was a great day and Ashley loved every minute of it!

skinamarink means I love you...

The other day, Josh was talking to Ethan and he said, "I love you more than marzipan."
I had no idea where he learned such a word. I've never used marzipan.
He even knew what marzipan was, when I asked.
Everything he needs to know, he learned in kindergarten.
His kindergarten Valentine's program was today. They sang a song called, "I love you more than applesauce," and marzipan was one of the words in that song.
Here are a few pictures of the kindergarteners singing love songs (such as the never-gets-old polka hit, Skinamarinkadinky-dink) to their parents.

oh, young love...

There's a little 5-year-old girl at church who has apparently been telling everyone Josh is her boyfriend. She is a younger sibling in a house full of teenagers, so I'm sure she hears about crushes and dating and boyfriends all the time.

On Sunday, she was standing next to me after church and I said, "So are you and Josh friends?"

She frowned as she thought her serious thoughts, then said, "Well, he's not actually my friend. He's actually more like...He's really my boyfriend. But my mom said I can't have a boyfriend. I'm not allowed to date until I'm like...eight or something."

It's like Romeo and Juliet.

Except Romeo's kind of a silly-head who sucks his thumb, still has all of his baby teeth, and isn't really into the whole "girlfriend" thing, yet. Poor Juliet... she'll just have to wait for the right eight-year-old to come around someday.

visit with family!

Driving past the gorgeous mansions...

heading to the beach!
Neither wind nor rain nor hail will stop us...
but a raised road will.
Grandma used her pants-windsock to keep seagulls away.
The sound track for Holes fit nicely with the next few pictures...
why do kids love to dig? (and Chris, too!)
Dig it oh oh oh, dig it.
You've got to go...dig those holes!

Maryann tied Ashley's hair up to make curls. Ashley wouldn't sleep in them, and took them out a half-hour later.

Before David's confirmation. Gotta love Josh's bellybutton!
